Khanqah-e-Sokhta residents decry lack of arrangements for Muharram

Residents of Khanqah-e-Sokhta Nawakadal in Dowtown here have expressed resentment over failure of authorities to repair lanes in the locality.

“Several lanes in our area have sunk and developed potholes. In absence of repairs, we face inconvenience while traveling to Masjid and Imambara during evening hours,” a delegation from the area led by Syed Sibtain Mehdi said.

The residents said the streetlights are also defunct around the shrine of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Mosvi (RA) where from the procession is to being taken out on 6th Muharram. “We appeal the concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so we don’t face any inconvenience during Muharram,” they added.
