Ranji Trophy: Parvez, Pathan shine as J&K dominate Day 1

Parvez Rasool picked up five-wicket haul as Tripura got all-out for 124 runs in their first inning and then J&K were 154 for the loss of one wicket in response at the end of first day’s play.

It was clinical bowling performance by skipper Parvez Rasool and all-round brilliance by Irfan Pathan as hosts dominated the first day of Ranji Trophy match against Tripura at Sheri-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Sonwar here on Tuesday.

Parvez Rasool picked up five-wicket haul as Tripura got all-out for 124 runs in their first inning and then  J&K were 154 for the loss of one wicket in response at the end of first day’s play. While Parvez was pick of the bowlers, it was Pathan who stole the show with his all-round brilliance in front of sizeable number of home fans. Pathan ended day with two wickets and unbeaten knock 47 from 58 after being promoted up the order.

J&K have already earned the first inning lead of 30 runs with nine wickets in hand.
