KU inter-department cricket tourney begins

Saqib Yousuf scored 60 runs not out and Abid remained not out on 21 runs.

Institute of technology, Kashmir University Zakura campus on Friday won the first cricket match by defeating Urdu Department.

The Urdu department scored 88 runs for seven wickets in alloted 15 overs.

Zakura campus chased the target in 11.3 overs without any loss of wicket.

Saqib Yousuf scored 60 runs not out and Abid remained not out on 21 runs.

Urdu department's Khalid claimed three wickets, Ahsan two, Owais one and Zakir claimed two wickets respectively.

The inaugural match was played between Department of Kashmiri and Business School. Business School scored 147 in allotted 20-overs. Sabit with 50 and Syed Fuzal with 35 runs were highest scorers for them. In reply Kashmiri department were able to score only 130 in 20 overs. Shoib of Business School took four wickets and Sabit took two.

The other match was played between MERC and Department  of Geography. Batting First MERC scored 125 in alloted overs. Schnian with 20 runs was highest scorer for them. In reply Geography achieved the target in 17 over's. For Geography Department, Manzoor scored 32 runs and took four wickets.
