The local police started its investigation and registered a murder case in the matter related to the mysterious death of a teenage boy in Keri Khawas village of Rajouri. The police also detained four persons for questioning on Saturday.

The boy, identified as Chander Parkash, died under mysterious circumstances in the evening hours of April 19. Earlier in the morning on the same day, the deceased was found lying in a semiconscious condition and was rushed to a local hospital. He was later shifted to SDH Sunderbani, where he died.

A protest rocked Sunderbani area on Friday over the mysterious death and the family members of the deceased blocked the Jammu-Poonch highway, alleging that the boy had been murdered. The protest was called off after assurance of a fair and speedy probe in the matter.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the local police said that an FIR has been registered in the matter after converting inquest proceedings into the case, while a Special Investigation Team has also started its probe. "After a written complaint was lodged by the family members of the deceased, police registered a case in Police Station Budhal," SSP Yougal Manhas said.

"So far, some persons of the area have been detained for questioning in the case and further investigation of the case is going on," the SSP added.
