24 injured in bus accident on Rajouri highway

Twenty four person today sustained multiple injuries when a rashly driven bus moving from Jammu to Poonch met with an accident at Kallar area of Rajouri on main highway. 

As per official reports, bus JK12 3751 was on way to Poonch from Jammu when at about 1 PM, driver lost control over it and bus plunged in roadside gorge. 

"Locals of the area and people moving on highway started rescue operation while teams of police from Chatyar police post and health department teams also rushed to the spot and injured were taken to district hospital Rajouri " an official said. 

He added that the total number of injuries in this accident is twenty four.

"All the injured are under treatment in hospital and are out of danger " Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Rajouri, Dr. Mahmood Bajar said. 

Meanwhile, officials identified the injured as Vipan Kumar, Nahim Akhter, Rahila Kouser, Shamim Akhter, Rahila Kouser, Shamim Akhter, Pankaj Kumar, Mohd Saleem, Shah Bano, Azeem Ul Haq, Gopal Mandal, Som Raj, Mohd Rafiq, Gulam Fatima, Kamran Azeem, Amit Kumar, Parveen Akhter, Tahira Bi, Nashid Akhter, Gulzar Begum, Som Raj, Gulam Mustafa, Fazal Hussain, Suman Bala, Rajinder Kour and Zahin Akhter.

Police have taken cognizance of the matter.
