Twenty people were injured when two buses met with a head-on collision on the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway near Rajouri town today.

According to reports, two over-speeding buses, JK02AH 8925 and JK02BL 7185, coming from opposite directions collided near the gate of Doodhadari temple at about 11 in the morning.

"In the accident, around twenty people were injured. Everyone was rescued and shifted to District Hospital Rajouri, where they are under-treatment,” said sources.

The injured include Mohammed Arif, Abida Koser, Akhter Begum, Noroni, Shahin Akhter, Mohammed Mukhtar, Bimla Devi, Hafiz Ullah, Rashida Bi, Muneera Begum, Mohammed Farooq, Santosh Devi, Mohammed Yousif, Arshad Iqbal, Zahoor Ahmed, Vidya Devi, Mohammed Arif, Mohammed Azam and Mohammed Nadeem. 

An FIR has been registered and police are investigating the matter.
