Donald Trump has made it clear to all. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.  He also told King Abdullah of Jordan and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on  phone that he plans to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. And to utter dismay of  the Muslim community of the world and the  subjugated Palestinian people, the  leaders  and the Muslim  countries of the world  never raised voice  and  got united to scuttle the move of US President.  Now that the move is realized into reality and damage done by undermining the importance of the second holiest city of the Muslims and consequently, this has smashed and hurt the sentiments of the whole Muslim nation.  The shifting of the capital to Jerusalem has put a question mark on the peace process in the region and has muddled the hopes of the Palestinians also.

The Israeli leaders didn’t try to cloak their happiness. In a message to Trump, Naftali Bennett, the head of the Jewish Home party thanked Trump and said “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your commitment and intention to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.”  Both the Palestinians and the Israelis claim Jerusalem as their capital. Though Israel’s Parliament and the Prime Minister’s home are in Jerusalem, they sit in West Jerusalem, on the side of the city Israel has controlled since 1949. Israel captured East Jerusalem in 1967 and annexed that half of the city. The international community considers East Jerusalem occupied territory. Half the city also contains sites holy for the Jews and the Muslims, the Western Wall, the most sacred site in the world for Jews, and Bait –ul- Muqadas (the Noble Sanctuary), a sacred site for the Muslims. The Palestinians would like to officially divide the city and make East Jerusalem the capital of a future Palestinian state. The Israelis, to put it mildly, have been disagreeing and Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu had before a long time made it clear that they would not even consider making concessions over Jerusalem. The decades-long political fight over the future of the city is what makes Trump’s new moves so momentous and so dangerous. The status of Jerusalem has been a source of division and contention between the Muslims and the Jews for decades. During most of the 1990s — including during the creation of the Oslo peace accords between the Israelis and the Palestinians — negotiations over the final status of the city were left for the future to avoid derailing the rest of the talks. In 2000, negotiations between then-Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and then-Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat reportedly came close to dividing the city between the two peoples. The Israelis would have retained control over the Western Wall, and the Palestinians would have been given control over the Temple Mount.  But negotiations failed over questions of who would take control of a maze of underground tunnels that run beneath Jerusalem’s Old City. Israeli-Palestinian peace talks have been largely on hold for years, with no indications that they’ll be resuming anytime soon keeping in view the controversial move by US.

For months the so called Muslim leaders only issued statements against the atrocious move by US President across the Middle East that “it will have disastrous consequences” and did nothing practically.  And when the promise made by US president with his friends of Jewish community became a truth, the Muslims leaders began to cry over the spilt milk.  The fact is patent, the Muslim Leaders are stooges and the Muslim community is divided than ever, and everybody understands that Muslim leaders can do nothing  beyond the vehement rhetoric.

The Arab countries are mired in their own internal troubles, their populations tired of wars, and the days when Arab leaders could challenge the United States in a meaningful way are long gone. Beyond the eruption of protests and potential explosion of violence, there is little the Arab countries can do to challenge Trump’s move.

In Palestine and at other places of the world particularly in Kashmir valley, the protesters burned American and Israeli flags and waved Palestinian flags and banners proclaiming Jerusalem as the eternal capital and calling recognition of it as Israel’s capital a “red line.” Hamas, the militant group that controls Gaza, called for more protests over the coming days.  Saudi Arabia, the Leader of Muslim countries, could play the role in forging unity among the Muslims but unfortunately, it has failed to do so and is more interested in appeasement of U S.

The Muslims can do nothing against the move of Trump. The Muslims may protest and cry for some days and ultimately, they will become silent till any other ante-Muslim decision is taken and the day is not far away. The unchanged actions and loom of the Muslims is responsible for the segregation and division of their nation in the world. They have become mute spectators to the sufferings of the Muslims in the world and are dominated by creepy forces everywhere in the world. The so called Muslim leaders have turned the brokers of the Muslim culture; community and religion Our Prophet (SAW) sacrificed everything for the institution of the religion of Islam and created a new era of history, prepared a great nation, brought forth new worlds of thought and knowledge, and put us above every civilization. The Muslims have one Allah, one Prophet (SAW), and religion. Why can’t they stand united and save the nation from further injury.
