Dr Suhail elected president DAK

To the posts of joint secretary, Dr Arshad Hussain Trag, Dr Firdous Masoodi, Dr Ashraf Shah, Dr Zakir, Dr Naseer Tak, Dr Bilal Beigh were declared winners while Dr Masood-ul-Hassan was elected as publicity secretary and Dr Irshad Muntazir as chief spokesperson.

Dr Suhail elected president DAK

Doctors’ Association Kashmir Thursday held central body elections and elected Dr Suhail Naik as president DAK. The polls and oath taking ceremony were held at a local hotel here.  Dr Suhail defeated his opponent Dr Muhammad Yusuf Tak by 570 votes. The former polled 2040 votes while latter secured 1470.

Others who were elected to the executive body include Dr Mir Waseem as senior vice president, Dr Owais H Dar as general secretary.

The oath to office was administered to the office bearers by Dr Khalid Parviz, a founding member of DAK. “In today’s elections, the members and representatives from various associations participated. They included Indian medical association, medical faculty association GMC Srinagar, medical faculty association SKIMS Bemina, society of consultant doctors, society of dental surgeons, resident doctors association GMC, doctors association Jammu, private practitioners association J&K and Indian dental associations,” said Dr Ijtiba Shafi. Later, former DAK president Dr Mir Mushtaq expressed gratitude to participants, delegates, election commission and senior members and guests for making the elections a “grand success.”
