South Kashmir: Militants attack CRPF camp in Bijbehara; police denies

Militants on Saturday attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir, even as police denied the reports of the attack.

Reports said that militants fired at the SICOP (J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited) building, housing CRPF e-coy, from a nearby karewa (high ground).

Heavy exchange of fire was going on when the last reports came in.

However, a police spokesman in Srinagar denied the reports of militant attack.

"It is a stray bullet fired somewhere. It is not an attack on any camp in Anantnag," he said.
