The minister for education Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari Tuesday stated that there was no ban for government school teachers to take private tuitions.

He, however, said they need to take proper permission from the competent authorities.

Bukhari said the government school teachers, lecturers and masters were governed by CSR and have to take proper permission from authorities to teach students at private tuitions.

“A section of press has probably misunderstood my statement. There is not any ban but the teachers as per CSR need to take permission from the department,” education minister said.

He said that they can't stop the spreading of knowledge but the government school teachers have to ensure that it doesn't affect the academics in government schools.

“From department side, we will remain liberal and give permission to teachers to teach in private coaching centres but permission is mandatory. Teaching by government teachers during school timing won’t be allowed,” he said.
