Manan Wani killing: Kashmir University Zakura campus students protest, offer funeral prayers in absentia

The students of Kashmir University (KU) Zakura campus on Thursday staged a protest against the killing of scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani and his associate in a gunfight with the government forces in Shatgund village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An eye witness said the students assembled on the campus and raised pro freedom slogans.

The students also offered funeral prayers in absentia for the slain militants.

Wani, a resident of Tikipora Sogam, and his associate Ashiq Hussain Zargar of Tulwari Langate were killed in a gunfight in Shatgund earlier today.
