The armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kamalkote sector of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, an official said today.

He said that there was no immediate report of any losses during the firing that took place around midnight.

However, a soldier Kuldeep Sharma of 8 Rashtriya Rifles was injured in a landmine blast during patrolling in Kamalkote two days before.

He was rushed to Uri hospital where from he was referred to Army hospital Srinagar for specialised treatment.
