Hurriyat Conference (M) pays tributes to slain youth

Hurriyat Conference (M) on Tuesday paid glowing tributes to the three youth, who died in a gunfight with the government forces in Hakoora area of Anantnag district.

In a statement here a Hurriyat (M) spokesman said, “Kashmiri people were still dealing with the shock of the Shopian killing by army firing, when three young and educated youth were killed in an encounter.”

“How long will we the people of Kashmir shoulder the coffins of our loved ones as the fact remains that it is the policy of extreme repression and suppression by New Delhi which is pushing the young and educated youth to pick up arms as a means of resistance to it,” he added.

The spokesman said a delegation of Hurriyat leaders led by youth leader Mushtaq Sofi visited Soura to express sympathy with the bereaved family amid curbs, and participated in the funeral prayers of slain Muhammad Eisa Fazili.

He also expressed grief and strongly condemned the death  Ashiq  Hussain Chopan by an unexplored shell outside the army camp in Awantipora saying that “military presence in one way or other is the cause of killings.”

Meanwhile he strongly condemned what he termed as “illegal” and continuous house arrest of its  chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. He also condemned the detention of senior leader Mukhtar Ahmed Waza.
