An overnight cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) launched by government forces in Lam forests of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district ended today after over twenty-hours.

An official said that CASO was launched in Lam forests last night after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants.

The search operation continued through the night and ended today after over twenty hours.

A hideout of Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit was busted in the operation, said the official.

Pertinently, police had earlier said that an encounter had erupted in Lam area today morning.
