‘PDP under Mehbooba’s leadership steering state out of uncertainty’

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) vice president, Sartaj Madni on Thursday said that the party under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is “successfully steering the state out from uncertainty towards the path of development and growth.”

Speaking at party headquarters Madni described the series of measures taken by Chief Minister as a “forward movement towards the accomplishment of core agenda of PDP.”

“Despite cynicism spread by some sections, dialogue and reconciliation process is taking roots due to consecutive measures of relief to people and sustained efforts for grass-roots connect,” he said. 

“Workers of PDP have offered sacrifices for peace, development, equality and liberty. Youth have been in party's focus for a desirable space and empowerment. Now when cases stand withdrawn, development projects are taking pace, job opportunities are thrown open, relief and rehabilitation is visible and reach out from Chief Minister herself is changing the atmosphere for inclusiveness and participation and governance is getting direction, PDP worker gets vindicated,” he said.

He said that PDP brought a positive change under the leadership of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, which had created hope in the subcontinent for cooperative politics and mutual understanding.

“Era of hate and confrontation then gave way to love and friendship. Now again, after a spell of unfortunate unrest, things are changing in the same direction and the peace process will revive for a purposeful activity,” he added.

PDP MLC speaking at the occasion lauded Mehbooba Mufti for nominating Madni again as Party's vice president.

“Under him, in his first stint, the party has expanded its base and cadre’s faith in the party and its agenda got stronger. Now again he will instill confidence and infuse new blood in the party to move forward. Jubilant workers accorded a warm welcome to  Madni at the function,” the statement added.
