President's Standards presented to 47 armoured regiment at Jammu

The 47 Armoured Regiment has been raised on 15 November 1982. The Regiment has participated in a number of operations including Op Rakshak, Op Vijay, Op Megdoot and others undertaken by the India Army.

General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff today presented ‘President's Standards’ to 47 Armoured Regiment on the behalf of President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, at Sunjuwan Military Station, Jammu.

The 47 Armoured Regiment has been raised on 15 November 1982. The Regiment has participated in a number of operations including Op Rakshak, Op Vijay, Op Megdoot and others undertaken by the India Army. 

The personnel of regiment also contributed in counterinsurgency operation with tenure in Rashtriya Rifles.

The honour has been presented to the regiment for its dedicated and commendable services. To commemorate this event, chief of the army staff also released a “Special First Day Cover”.

Lieutenant General DR Soni, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ARTRAC, Lieutenant General Surinder Singh General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command and Lieutenant General D Anbu, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command were also present on the occasion.
