One dead, three injured after bus carrying pilgrims meets accident in Katra

An official said a bus (registration number UP 13AT 8585) heading towards Katra from Jammu went out of the driver''s control and hit a barricade at Moori Naka, leaving four passengers injured.

A man died and three others were injured after a bus carrying Vaishno Devi pilgrims met with an accident in katra area of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

An official said a bus (registration number UP 13AT 8585) heading towards Katra from Jammu went out of the driver's control and hit a barricade at Moori Naka, leaving four passengers injured.

He said the injured were rushed to CHC Katra where one of the injured, identified as Khajuru (45), son of Ratan R/O Rajipur Palwal Haryana succumbed.

The other injured, identified as Mahesh Kumar (28) S/O Parkash R/O Rampur UP, Sonu Kumar (28) S/O Roshan Pal R/ O Shikarpur district Bulandshahar UP and Mithan Lal (50)  S/O Ganeshi Thakur R/O Chainpur Shikarpur, were referred to GMC&H Jammu for specialised treatment.
