Kathua victim’s father approaches Supreme Court to seek transfer of trial outside Jammu and Kashmir

According to ANI news agency, the father of the eight-year-old victim approached the apex court to seek safety, security and transfer of the case outside the state.

Kathua victim’s father approaches Supreme Court to seek transfer of trial outside Jammu and Kashmir

The father of Kathua gangrape-and-murder victim has approached the Supreme Court to seek transfer of the trial outside Jammu and Kashmir.

According to ANI news agency, the father of the eight-year-old victim approached the apex court to seek safety, security and transfer of the case outside the state.

It said that court is likely to hear the plea at 2 pm today.

Meanwhile, trials of the accused in the horrific case began at Kathua court today.

The gangrape and murder of the eight-year-old girl, who belonged to nomadic Muslim community, took place in the Kathua district in January. After being missing for a week, her body was found on January 17.

Eight accused have been arrested in the case.
