Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh paid rich tributes to the police, army, para military force martyrs   who made supreme sacrifice for maintaining integrity and sovereignty of the nation, here today at the homage paying ceremony organized  by J&K Police to mark National Police Day .

 As per press statement, Deputy Chief Minister took salute at the commemoration parade in presence of senior officers, local representatives, veterans along with family members and relatives of the martyrs.

 On the occasion floral tributes were also paid to the police martyrs.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh hailed the contribution of Army and police personnel and said that Dy SP Ayoub Pandit, SHO Feroz Ahmad and Lieutenant Umar Fayaz sacrificed their lives like many others from Jammu and other parts of the country to safeguard the nation. “We salute their sacrifice”, he added.

He said terrorists groups are out to    harm Indian democracy but brave jawans sacrificed their lives protecting the country’s security.

He gave full credit to Jammu and Kashmir Police for ensuring peace in the state by offering supreme sacrifices. “Police administration plays pivotal role in upholding and enforcing law to protect life, liberty, property, human rights and dignity of the people” he asserted.

Later, Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a blood donation camp organised by the J&K police in which all senior officers and other volunteers donated the blood.

He also met with the family members of the police martyrs and presented them gifts.
