Cop who attempted ‘suicide’ succumbs to injuries

He was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 11:30 am on Wednesday, police said.

A cop who allegedly attempted suicide outside the residence of Director General of Police on Tuesday, succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu on Wednesday, police said.

They said IRP head constable Subash Chander son of late Nanak Chand of Aanjana (Rajal), Nowshera, Rajouri, was on duty outside the residence of DGP Dilbagh Singh at Bikram Chowk area here, when he allegedly shot himself with his service rifle on Tuesday. 

He was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 11:30 am on Wednesday, police said.

A case has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station.

DGP Dilbag Singh has not shifted to his residence in Jammu as yet.
