Congress pays tributes to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru

Rich tributes were today paid to first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, by Congress Party in a function held at PCC headquarter Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu.

The function was organized by DCC Jammu which was attended by senior functionaries of the party.

The function was presided over by Sham Lal Sharma, senior vice president, PCC.

Senior leaders including former ministers, Raman Bhalla and Mohd Sarief Niaz, Ravinder Sharma-Chief Spokesperson, Rajnish Sharma, Anil Chopra, ex-MLAs, Indu Pawar (President  Mahila  Congress),  Th. Shiv Dev Singh and Ashok Dogra, Zahida Khan, Krishan Lal Gupta, PCC secretaries, Shashi Sharma, Pawan Raina, Manjeet Sigh Jatt, Thomas Khokhar, Nadim Sharief Niaz and others paid tributes to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. 

Sham Lal Sharma described  Pt. Nehru as the tallest leader of this country after Mahatma Gandhi, whose contribution in the freedom struggle and as first Prime Minister can never be forgotten. 

He criticized the communal forces who are trying to distort history to misguide the younger generations about the role of Pt. Nehru and other great leaders.

Bhalla also paid tributes to Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. He said that Pt. Nehru is known as architect of Modern India because of his multi-dimensional contributions in shaping the future of Independent India.

Mohd. Sharief Niaz said that Pt. Nehru was a valiant freedom fighter who gave up all comforts of life and dedicated his life to the struggle to free India from colonial rule. 

Ravinder Sharma described Pt. Nehru as one of the tallest leaders of the world, who not only shaped the future of India but played the very vital rule in the world politics.
