Buddhist Department students protest over shortage of teachers

The students of Buddhist Department, Jammu University, today held a strong protest demonstration against the university authorities over shortage of teachers.

The protesting students, led by Avijot Singh, state secretary, NSUI, while raising slogans, alleged that their studies are suffering badly but the concerned authorities are least bothered.

As per a press note, the students boycotted all their classes to lodge protest. They said that only 3 teachers are available in the department. Among them, one is HOD, one is assistant professor and third one is on contract basis.

Avijot Singh alleged that the university is not following the guidelines of UGC to run the PG department.

The authorities are playing with the career of students and their attitude towards Buddhist Department is unfair.

Vikas Badoria also addressed the protesting students and demanded adequate number of teachers for the department.

The protesting students warned to continue their demonstration till their demand is not fulfilled. Kunal, Vishal, Puneet and others were also present on the occasion.
