Paying rich tributes to the militants, Muhammad Eesa Fazili, Syed Owais Shafi and Sabzaar Ahmad, who were slain in a gunfight at Hakura in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani said, “The Indian authorities’ insensitivity is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed.

“Instead of taking measures to resolve long pending issue in its historical perspective, they want to thrust their choice through barrel of gun.

“Prevailing uncertainty in the state and unrealistic approach of authorities is the basic cause of human tragedy and it is the reason that youth are losing their precious lives,” Geelani, in a statement today, said, adding that the “Indian authorities are responsible for this horrendous situation. They are adamant to carry forward this situation and prolong this unauthorised control.”

Lashing out at local mainstream politicians, Geelani said, “For the past seven decades, they are deceiving nation on one pretext or the other. Their politics is based on deceit which illustrates their chameleon type character that instead of following the right mission of freedom, they, for the lust of power coined different slogans to meet their material ends.”

Paying rich tributes to the slain militants, Geelani said, “These youths spilled their hot blood for the great and sacred cause of Kashmir and the entire nation of Kashmir is indebted to them for their ultimate sacrifice. It is the collective responsibility of the people of Kashmir and leadership to take the ongoing movement to its ultimate realization,” Geelani said, adding that “We are duty bound to carry their mission to its logical end. Lashing out at former state financial minister Dr Haseeb Drabu for his statement ‘Kashmir was not a political issue’, Geelani said, “These turncoats for securing favours from their masters, are issuing ridiculous and senseless statements. They have brought shame for themselves. Despite humiliation and disregard by New Delhi, these turncoats continue to bow their heads and obey their directives without heeding to their conscience. They have been assigned with a mission to distort historical facts about Kashmir issue and their shameful attitude and behaviour reflect their slave mentality,” Geelani said.

A delegation of Hurriyat leaders and activists today visited Soura here and participated in funeral prayers of slain Muhammad Eesa Fazili.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Huriyat (TeH) leader Umar Aadil Dar, according to Hurriyat statement, was arrested by police and lodged in police station, Nowgam.
