It was Shah’s love for his birthplace that 12 years ago he decided to wind up business and move back to his birthplace, Srinagar, after spending 60 years in Pakistan. He had left Srinagar at the age of 15.

However, after a couple of years, due to some unavoidable circumstances in the Valley, he returned to Rawalpindi.

Syed Javed migrated to Pakistan from Raiteng, Rainawari area of Srinagar in 1948. His father, who came in search of his son, also died in Pakistan's port city Karachi.

During early years of his migration, Javed visited Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and other cities where he worked very hard to earn an honourable livelihood. After hardships he set up Shoukat Art Press in Sadr area of Rawalpindi. He was popularly known as Javed Press.

He was a committed disciple of Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulana Muhammad Yousuf Shah. He had the honour to share the company of KH Khursheed, the close confidante of Pakistan's founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, JKLF founder late Ammanullah Khan and other prominent political personalities of that time.

DFP vice president Mehmood Ahmed Saghar expressed shock over the demise of Syed Javed and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq condoled the demise of Syed Javed.

Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to the deceased and termed him a great sympathizer of Kashmir and helped people especially the refugees. He said the deceased worked on various fronts to highlight the Kashmir issue.

Mirwaiz said Javed was a close friend and associate of Molvi Muhammad Ahmed son of Muhajir Millat Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah(RA).

Mirwaiz extended his condolence to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Molvi Mohammad Ahmed and many Hurriyat leaders including convener of APHC AJK Syed Faiz Naqshbandi and other Hurriyat leaders participated in the Namaz-e-Jinazah of the deceased in Rawalpindi Pakistan.
