Debutants Real Kashmir FC are set to take on big boys of Indian football, Mohun Bagan A C in the match of the I-League at TRC Turf ground, here on Tuesday.

With another full house expected, a scintillating atmosphere has already begun to build up. Keeping in view the huge rush of the fans, organizers distributed passes for the game on Monday. No one would be allowed inside the stadium without pass.

Mohun Bagan, the is oldest football club of India and one of the oldest in Asia arrived in Srinagar for their crucial clash against hosts Real Kashmir on Saturday and held couple of training sessions at the venue to acclimatize to the conditions.

In I-League, the match is considered as middle table clash with not much separating the two on points table in early stages of the league. With five points from three games, Mohun Bagan stands at fifth place on points table while as Real Kashmir after three games stands at seventh place with four points.

The star-studded Mohun Bagan didn’t get off to a great start to the season, having to contend with two draws in its first two matches. However, in its last match, they were able to beat Indian Arrows 2-0 to register their first win. Contrarily, Real Kashmir got off to a flying start defeating defending champions Minerva Punjab in the away clash. However, at home, with full fan support and favorable home conditions, they have not been able to replicate the same results. In the two matches played at home Real Kashmir has got one draw and suffered 2-0 defeat against Neroca FC in its last match.

Though Real Kashmir suffered its first defeat in almost a year in its last match against Neroca FC but they looked more dominating side creating chances frequently and troubling the opposite defenses. With full crowd backing them, hosts will like to continue the same tempo in their game and not get intimidated by the star line up of Mohun Bagan.

I am more worried about opponents than weather conditions: Mohun Bagan coach

The former Mohun Bagan player and present coach Sankarlal Chakraborty on Monday said that he is more worried Real Kashmir than Kashmir weather and the fan support for the Tuesday’s I-League clash.

He was speaking during pre-match press conference at TRC here on Monday. Asked about the weather being cold and Real Kashmir getting huge fan support, Sankarlal Chakraborty said, “ Mohun Bagan is used to big fan support and weather is no excuse. Yes, it is a bit cold here and uncomfortable as well but once players warm up, nothing matters in the middle thereafter. I am worried about Real Kashmir as team more than weather and fan support. The way they played their last match is real worry as they did pretty good job despite ending on losing side. They have good tall defenders in Mason and Loveday and then midfield is filled with some of the youngsters and have got Krezo upfront trouble any side. The mix of foreign and local players is working well for them and I am looking to crack the code tomorrow”.

Not ‘intimidated’ by Mohun Bagan: Real Kashmir coach

Real Kashmir Scottish coach, David Robertson who is credited with carrying team into I-League after wining second division league, on Monday said that his side is not intimidated by big boys of Indian football - Mohun Bagan.

“Mohun Bagan is here and it is a big name, but we are not intimidated by them. In fact, we are not intimidated by anyone as we focus on our game and don’t care about who the opponents are on the given day. If we continue to play like we did in previous games then there is nothing to play. Yes, finishing is problem and I am hoping that will not be the case tomorrow,” Robertson said.
